Learn to Work Hard On Yourself Than Your Job

Facebook post on Values. Long thread.
When I say said this the other time on one of my business seminars, many eye brows were raised. Some jaws dropped. Why? I don’t know. But all I know is that when you work hard on yourself, you make yourself better in what you do. When you work hard at your job, you make someone better. I mean your employer.

Until I realized this, my life was quit boring. I started with a multi-million kina oil palm company as a divisional manager. Executive pay, luxury benefits.

But I worked so hard on the job that my whole self suffered.

Most of us have gone to school. That means we have the education. What most people don’t realize is that they need more than just a degree certificate. They need knowledge.

Those people that posse knowledge know that to be greater, one must increase his value. It not how many PhDs one has that mattes. It’s the value one has that counts the most.

In the 21st century market place. VALUE is the keyword. Provide it or loss your market share. It’s as simple as that. Value! Value! Value! We talk about economic values, social values, political values, cultural values and all kinds of value.

Q. How adding value does does to your carrier or business affects your life?

The great American business philosopher Jim Rohn said;
Facebook post that I made on Value Adding
“Learn to work hard on yourself than your job. If you do, you become more valuable to yourself and your company.  You can create a fortune out of that by increasing yourself worth”

You see, you aren't paid on hours you work. If so, we all could just stay home and get paid for ours we waste at home. I wish it was this way.

No. Not hours. You are paid on the value your bring to the market place. Ever wondered why a person with minimal education earns more than a person with a degree? Answer is value. The more value you command, the more you are paid.

Think of Nelson Mandela, Donald Trump, Michael Jackson, Bill Gates, and Michael Jordan. What do you see? These people in one way or another become famous because they added value to other people lives.

Value is the one ingredient you will always find in the lives of those who have made it to the top of their career and life. By adding value to others, they make quantum leaps to success.

It is the bible that says; “Service too many leads to greatness”

Questions to ponder.

How do you create value?
How does creating value make you feel?

The lines are open!
